New Prospects Association have just enjoyed a fantastic event that took place at the Hilton Gateshead on Saturday 19th November.
Two of our staff were nominated for awards;
the Frontline Leader Award and the Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award. Linda Shaw and Yvonne Swales went along with other staff and some of the people we support.
They enjoyed an glamorous evening and heard some inspiring stories that make you remember why working in social care is worth while. All the people there get out of bed for the same reason we do – to improve the lives of people who rely on their help and support. Although we didn’t win in either category we came away feeling that we are part of an important industry that should do much more to tell the world why doing this work brings its own rewards.
We have resolved that we will be doing far more to involve everyone connected with New Prospects in celebrating the wonderful support offered by our staff and the fantastic achievements of the people we support. Despite what lies ahead as we face cuts and as yet unknown challenges, New Prospects is going to make 2012 a year of celebration and pride – and I guarantee we will have more nominations at next year’s event.
