Gateshead Care Home Choir
Our Network Development Officer Sarah has been working closely with Alice Thwaite, Equal Arts, and Kate Andrews, psychologist, to continue to offer a comprehensive programme of training in Dementia to support care home staff. At the last Dementia and Activity Provision Champions Forum, held at the end of November, we discussed how care homes across Gateshead can come together and be involved in a community activity.
We focused on the idea of potentially establishing a Borough Wide Choir, made up of care home staff and residents. The long term goal would be to put on a celebration event in Gateshead, which would be attended by staff, residents and family members.
