Tyne and Wear Care Alliance has won a Jobcentre plus award in the category of Best Recruitment Partnership, for
its Prepare to Care Recruitment programme.
The award was presented to Alliance Manager, Moira Pinkney, on the 2nd of August 2010 at the Business and Innovation Centre, in the presence of Cllr Speding, Graham King and the TWCA team.
The Prepare to Care initiative supports unemployed people to train and work in the care sector, by matching the recruitment needs of employers with the development needs of workless people. This partnership working ensures that vacancies are filled with people who are motivated and trained to deliver care to those who require support within our communities and residential care settings.
The Alliance together with Job Centre Plus, Skills for Care, Training Providers and agencies such as Shaw trust,
Employer Links and Acumen Trust have delivered and implemented this innovative and effective recruitment initiative that brings new people into the Care workforce with the appropriate skills.

Practical Assistance Enabling people to maintain their independence by providing 'that little bit of help'
