Dementia Project;

A Dementia Project was launched at the Open Meeting Nov 22nd at The Chillingham.

TWCA are funding the project which will see Dementia Link Workers registered for Level 3 Certificate in Awareness of Dementia [21 credits on the QCF framework].Underpinning knowledge for the award will be via training from clinicians from the Challenging Behaviour team.

A major part of the Dementia Strategy is ensuring person centred care and to help with this there will also be training for Activity Co-ordinators.

The aim of the project is to improve the quality of care provided to people with dementia and there will be ongoing training in 'Person Centred Dementia Care'.

Places on the project will be limited. The necessary paperwork and application forms will be available at the meeting and will also be emailed to employers on that day.

Induction onto the programme January 24th 2012.
Training to start on February 7th/8th 2012.
