The aim of the DLCC is to support staff to improve the lives of people living with dementia.

TWCA will be supporting the project which will see 20 DLCC's within North Tyneside registered for a Level 3 Certificate in Awareness of Dementia [21 credits on the QCF framework].

Underpinning knowledge for the award will be delivered by clinicians from the Challenging Behaviour team.

A major part of the Dementia Strategy is ensuring people living with dementia receive person centred care. Therefore, to support the DLCC, it has been agreed to arrange a trainig programme for Activity Coordinators.

The funding is for 20 Dementia Liaison and Coordination Champion . We are asking organizations within North Tyneside to nominate a worker and complete an application form.

Contact us for the necessary paperwork and application forms.
