Living and Dying with Dignity - Annual Conference, 24th September 2009 - The Sage, Gateshead
Guests confirmed......Tricia Stewart is one of the original members of the Rylestone Women's Institute in North Yorkshire that inspired the British film Calender Girls. New Vision are based in Gateshead and are a group of people with learning disabilities who are using their personal experiences and skills to deliver training about disability awareness. Falklands veteran Simon Weston joins us for another year to discuss dignity and care.
The Shuggies - inspirational women who bring care to life through music. Pantastic are a community Steel Pan Band from Sunderland, the group has 18 members of mixed ages and abilities. The group plays a variety of music from traditional Caribbean calypso to modern pop music.
There will also be the chance to attend one of six workshops that will be running on the day which are:-
Personalisation an Individuals Story, Dignity Champions, Advanced Care Planning, End of Life Strategy,
The Dementia Care Strategy and Living and Dying with Dignity.
