Safeguarding adults means all work which enables an adult to retain independence, well being and choice and live a life that is free from abuse and neglect.
South Tyneside Local Authority are committed to raising awareness of adult abuse and ensuring the workforce supporting vulnerable adults are adequately trained - appropriate to their role and in line with national standards.

Tyne and Wear Care Alliance supports the training provided by South Tyneside Multi Agency Training Team and encourages employers to participate in this excellent FREE training opportunity.

There are currently 2 levels of Safeguarding and 2 levels of Mental Capacity training on offer - details opposite. Booking is directly with the Local Authority not through Tyne and Wear Care Alliance.
