What is the Workforce Development Fund?
The Workforce Development Fund is a funding stream from the Department of Health, distributed by the Sector Skills Council, Skills for Care, via a network of employer led partnerships such as the Alliance. The funding is intended to support on going professional development within adult social care, in particular apprenticeships.
A contribution can be made towards units/qualifications listed on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
This funding will reimburse you £15 per credit for QCF units with up to 60 credits per learner per financial year.
For example, if you have an employee who has completed the follow qualification or unit this is what you could claim -
HSC 3047 Support Use of Mediciation £75
HSC 3048 Support Individuals at the End of Life £105
Level 2/3 Apprenticeships in Health and Social Care £690/£870
Level 3 Certificate in Dementia £375
If you would like be part of the Workforce Development Fund and would like Tyne & Wear Care Alliance to submit units on your behalf, please click on the Members Declaration Form on the right of the screen and return your completed document to Jason Lewins (Workforce Development Lead).
