The Workforce Development Fund is a new funding stream from the Department of Health, distributed by the Sector Skills Council, Skills for Care, via a network of employer led partnerships such as the Alliance. The funding is intended to support on going professional development within adult social care, in particular the new Diploma’s. Each year priority areas are identified and focused upon. The priority areas for 2011/12 are:
- Dementia
- End of Life
- Learning Disabilities
- Safeguarding
- Management
Here at the Alliance we are utilising this stream of funding to support Dementia and End of Life and as you will see from your Network pages we have developed packages of training which embrace the key core competencies’ from the National Strategies in Dementia and End of Life and ensure that your team of carers are trained to nationally recognised standard.
